The Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation has confirmed it is considering the application of the Russian Pellet Union to participate in their experiment to carry out customs inspections prior to the release of goods, within the framework of specially installed working groups on the territory of the North-West Customs Administration.
The related costs and delays related to the customs inspections are a pressing problem to exporters of wood pellets today. Some companies are checked regularly, although they have never been involved in misconduct and their products could be considered low risk.
