The Association "Russian Pellet Union" presented a report at the 18th meeting of the Permanent Russian-Chinese working group on the development and use of forest resources of the Sub-commission on trade and economic cooperation of the Russian-Chinese Commission for the preparation of regular meeting

Since the beginning of the EU sanctions and the subsequent ban on the import of Russian pellets, Russian timber enterprises have begun an active search for alternative markets for their products, including pellets.

The best way for the industry to get out of the current situation may be the earliest opening of the export of Russian pellets to China. However, in accordance with the Notice of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China No. 53 of November 24, 2020 "On the comprehensive ban on the import of solid waste", pellets with the HS code 4401310000 are on the list of goods prohibited from importing into the territory of the Chana.

Due to the structural transformation of traditional markets for pellet products, and the implementation of low-carbon development programs, Russia and China have many points of mutually beneficial cooperation, which the Union presented in its report.

The proposals of the Parties were reflected in the final protocol, and within the framework of the upcoming meeting, the Chinese side will present its decision on this issue.
