The Russian Pellet Union presented a report at a meeting of the Expert Advisory Council on the timber complex under the relevant Committee of the Federation Council.

On April 27, 2023, Tatyana Gigel, a member of the Committee of the Federation Council on Agrarian Food Policy and Environmental Management, held a meeting of the Expert Advisory Council on the Forestry Complex under the profile Committee of the Federation Council on the topic "Problems and prospects for the use of biofuels in public utilities."

Within the framework of the meeting, the Russian Pellet Union presented a report on the topic “Biofuel production as an element of the Strategy for socio-economic development”.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Federal Forestry Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the professional and expert community.

The participants of the meeting discussed measures of state support for the development of the domestic biofuel market following the results of the meeting in the Arkhangelsk region, the experience of enterprises in the Northwestern Federal District implementing projects to develop the domestic biofuel market, as well as other issues on the agenda of the meeting.

The proposals of the participants were reflected in the final list of Decisions and will soon be sent to the relevant ministries for elaboration.
