VIRTUAL AUSTRIAN CONFERENCE “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF FORESTRY IN RUSSIA»

On March 11-12, 2021 the RPU participated in the two-day online business forum held by the Trade department of the Austrian Embassy in Moscow that was devoted to the problems of the modern resource saving forest management involving the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism of Austria and also the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz) and the representatives of the two Russian forestry universities.

Due to new virtual opportunities, it was possible to welcome the representatives of the forestry business from the regions of the Russian Far East among more than 100 Russian participants.
 
The nine Austrian companies took part in the event, that is a part of the internationalization campaign “go-international”, a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for Digitalization and Economic Policy and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, and presented various solutions and technologies for the entire forestry sector.

After a successful conference on the first day with an active dialogue between the representatives of government, science and business of both countries, the two-day b2b sessions took place, during which in total 70 b2b meetings were held.
