Russian Pellet Union
The Russian Pellet Union is an independent, non-commercial organization founded October 15th, 2020. It facilitates a platform for discussing current issues and initiating initiatives for sustainable development of Russia’s pellet sector. One of its main aims is development of fair and transparent market conditions.
The Union's full members are pellet producers scattered over several Russian regions (St-Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, Tver, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Arkhangelsk, Komi, Vologda and Novgorod Regions). Together, they produce over a million tons of wood pellets a year.
Legal information
Full membership is open to responsible business entities in Russia engaged in the production of solid biofuel made from the wood processing waste material.

Abbreviation: RPU
The RPU is in the final stage of the process on achieving the federal status of a Self-Regulating Organization (SRO). The recognition as SRO enables the Union to initiate legal norms and standards and advance programs for development of the pellet market.
