Zijderlaan Handel Maatschappij B.V. (Zijderlaan) has become partner of the Russian Pellet Union (RPU). Zijderlaan is the largest trader of wood pellets in the Netherlands. It procures pellets from many countries, including Russia, and distributes them to clients in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France. At its facility near Rotterdam, Zijderlaan has 60.000 tons storage capacity and operates several automated bagging lines.
The company trades different kinds of wood pellets, such as industrial pellets for power plants, as also high-quality pellets sold in small bags to retail chains and wholesalers. Agriselect is one of the well-known brands Zijderlaan owns. Besides, it also is the largest producer of cat litter boxes in the north-west of Europe.
For Zijderlaan it is essential it can prove the wood is legal and comes from sustainably managed forests. From Russia, Zijderlaan buys pellets which are FSC certified, mostly in combination ENplus. The trader is interested to cooperate with RPU on due diligence.
