Russian Pellet Union
The Russian Pellet Union is an independent, non-commercial organization founded October 15th, 2020. It facilitates a platform for discussing current issues and initiating initiatives for sustainable development of Russia’s pellet sector. The Union is headquartered in Moscow.
Vision, Mission, Values
The Russian Pellet Union aims to develop fair and transparent market conditions. The Union's code of conduct covers requirements in the field of legality, sustainability, transparency, work safety, and internal evaluations. The Union demands its Members and Partners to commit themselves to the same principles.
Members and Partners
Membership is open to responsible business entities in Russia engaged in the production of solid biofuel. The Union's Members are located all over Russia. Together, they produce and export over a million tons of wood pellets a year. Stakeholders to the Russian solid biomass sector, such as traders, large clients of industrial pellets, equipment suppliers, are welcome to become a Partner of the Union.
The RPU is in the final stage of achieving the federal status of a "Self-Regulatory Organization" (SRO). The recognition as an SRO enables the Union to initiate and cooperate on the development of legal norms and standards and advanced government development programs.
The Russian Pellet Union is, under Russian law, an Association, and soon will acquire the status of a Self-Regalatory Organisation. In relation to the legislation behind these organisational forms, there are requirements to publicly publishing certain information on, for example, the Union's statutes, organisational structure, and requirements to Members and Partners. This can be found on the webpage "Legal Information".
